Which country won the first ever football world cup?

     The first ever FIFA world cup took place in    July  of 1930 in Uruguay. It was also the only world cup held without qualification. 

     Uruguay not only hosted the first FIFA world cup, but were also the first ones to win  it. 

          It ended up with an outpouring joy as the Uruguay took a public holiday after the celeste became the first world champions after beating   thier neighbour Argentina 4-2 in the world cup  final.
